Tanya has devoted her legal career to family law and litigation.
Her legal career began in New Brunswick, where she articled with a sole practitioner before joining a mid-sized family law firm. She subsequently relocated to Woodbridge, Ontario, where she practised at a boutique family law firm and gained substantial experience representing clients in contested family law proceedings, negotiations, and complex financial disputes.
Throughout her practice, she has represented clients in matters involving property division, business interests, income determination, child and spousal support, parenting arrangements, and domestic contracts.
She has developed a particular interest in financially complex family law matters, particularly those involving self-employed individuals, business owners, and complicated financial circumstances. These cases require more than an understanding of the law; they demand careful financial analysis, thorough preparation, sound judgment, and strategic advocacy.

Why Tanya started Forte
I wanted to build a practice that reflects my own philosophy of advocacy: that a lawyer can be determined, direct, and effective without losing sight of the human beings involved.
I have never believed that being a strong advocate requires abandoning your humanity.
Family law often involves people navigating some of the most difficult and uncertain periods of their lives. They deserve a lawyer who is prepared to tell them what they need to hear, not simply what they want to hear, and who approaches their circumstances with both compassion and sound judgment.
Forte was established to provide thoughtful, strategic, and personally involved legal representation, with an emphasis on preparation, candour, and achieving practical results.
The name Forte reflects strength, which I believe can take many forms: knowing when to stand firm, when to negotiate, and when to recognize that a different approach may better serve a client’s interests.
